Electrician Supervisor
Full-Time | Shakopee, MN
Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 annually + Bonus

We are seeking an experienced Electrician Supervisor to lead and oversee a team of union electricians at an industrial facility in Shakopee, MN. This role provides leadership, technical oversight, and daily direction to ensure all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and labor agreements.

The Electrician Supervisor is responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing electrical maintenance, installation, and repair activities while collaborating cross-functionally to support operational reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Lead daily operations of the electrical maintenance team to ensure safe and efficient performance.
Foster a positive and engaging team culture focused on development and accountability.
Maintain effective communication with union leadership, management, and internal stakeholders.
Manage and maintain electrical equipment documentation and files.
Optimize spare parts inventory through research and inventory control practices.
Operational Execution
Prepare electrical job packages and work plans.
Plan, prioritize, and schedule work orders, preventive maintenance, projects, and shutdown activities.
Review blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to guide work execution.
Ensure all installations and maintenance activities meet industry and organizational standards.
Establish material, labor, and equipment requirements for projects.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and standard work documentation.
Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and support technicians in problem-solving.
Resource & Project Management
Lead meetings to review electrical project progress.
Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to maximize resource efficiency.
Support budgeting by forecasting labor, materials, and equipment needs.
Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and electrical components.
Oversee contractor work when needed.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety standards including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA, NFPA, and NEC compliance.
Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local safety and facility regulations.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and reduce downtime.
Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Perform additional duties as needed to support operations.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Master or Journeyman Electrician License in the State of Minnesota required.
8+ years of industrial electrical experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Experience using CMMS systems for work order management.
Background in electrical maintenance planning and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in grain handling, refrigeration, utilities, or wastewater systems.
Experience managing complex plant projects.
Familiarity with vibration, infrared, PLCs, ultrasonic testing, and motor circuit analysis.
Boiler license or related experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable electrical codes and regulations.
Proven leadership skills with accountability for team performance and operational metrics.
Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams and union environments.
Expertise in industrial electrical systems including power distribution, motors, drives, MCCs, switchgear, control panels, and instrumentation.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Understanding of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
Knowledge of PLCs and automation systems preferred.
Ability to work safely in a physically demanding industrial environment.

Physical Requirements
Routinely lift objects over 50 lbs.; occasionally apply force exceeding 100 lbs.
Regular exposure to dust, temperature extremes, and industrial environments.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and ladder use.
Occasional work at heights, in confined spaces, and in adverse weather conditions.
Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Moderate noise environment; hearing protection available.
