Job Title: Second Shift – Second Class B Boiler Operator

Wage: $30-$35/hr 

Shift: 3pm – 11pm

Position Summary
We are seeking a Second Class B Boiler Operator for our second shift. This individual must be mechanically inclined and capable of supporting overall facility operations beyond boiler maintenance. The role is critical for maintaining safe, efficient operation of steam and hot water systems, while also assisting with general mechanical systems and equipment throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, air compressors, pumps, and associated systems.
Monitor and log boiler operations, including water levels, fuel usage, and chemical concentrations.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Respond promptly to system alarms, malfunctions, and emergencies.
Perform mechanical rounds and equipment inspections across the facility.
Assist with mechanical repairs such as replacing valves, pumps, belts, bearings, and seals.
Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions; assist with minor repairs as needed.
Maintain detailed shift logs and report operational concerns accurately.
Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal codes and safety regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams during shift changes to maintain continuous operations.
Keep the boiler room and work areas clean, safe, and organized.

Required Qualifications
Valid Second Class B Boiler Operator License (State Certified).
Minimum of 2 years of boiler operation experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, and HVAC systems.
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently on second shift.
Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
This position operates in both office and manufacturing environments. The noise level ranges from quiet in office settings to loud in production areas. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

Stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.
Use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 lbs.
Tolerate exposure to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and high noise levels, with PPE as required.
Work in confined spaces, high places, and occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
