Boiler Operator – Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Boiler Operator to operate and maintain high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment. This role involves performing chemical testing, monitoring utility systems, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, and performing welding and preventative maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Perform boiler chemical testing, record results in logbooks, and make necessary chemistry adjustments.
Perform wastewater pretreatment system testing, record results in logbooks, and adjust chemistry as needed.
Record and analyze meter readings for utilities, taking corrective actions as appropriate.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and equipment using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Perform welding activities including MIG, TIG, ARC, cutting, and brazing.
Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and associated control systems.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other equipment components per work procedures or technical manuals.
Inspect motors, belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions while following maintenance records.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minnesota 2nd Class B Boiler License.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Strong ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English.
Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
Experience using hand and power tools.
Lockout/Tagout experience.
Prior welding experience, including MIG, TIG, ARC, cutting, and brazing (preferred).
Prior experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (preferred).
HVAC experience (preferred).
