General Description:
The Boiler Operator /Maintenance Technician’s primary role is providing multiple support functions for maintenance and production operations. Primary responsibility is to monitor and troubleshoot boiler systems.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Start Up/Shut Down/ Operation on heating and process steam systems
- Managing water chemistry for both boiler feedwater and cooling tower water systems
- Repair and maintenance of process equipment and related support utilities, building and exterior equipment.
- Support proper running of utilities including ammonia refrigeration, steam and water, hot oil heating and compressed gas systems.
- Assist in directing and supporting custodial personnel.
- Complete other assigned tasks as requested
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or G.E.D.
- 2nd Class “B” Minnesota Boiler Engineer’s license or higher
- 3 to 5 years industrial facilities maintenance, experience with and knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair.
- General knowledge of production equipment, pipefitting, liquid, compressed gas and HVAC systems.
- Must be willing to become forklift certified and don required PPE.
- Must be team orientated with a positive attitude and goal focused objectivity.
- Must have excellent time management skills and professional discipline to work at an efficient pace, safely executing work orders and prioritized demands
- Pipefitting, welding, fabrication skills, and refrigeration knowledge are all a plus.
